‘Kentucky Life’ season premiere celebrates Kentucky’s nature preserves, importance of fireflies and legacy of civil rights leader

In the season premiere of Kentucky Life, host Chip Polston celebrates Kentucky’s natural heritage and 50 years of the state’s nature preserves. 

The program also introduces the people working to protect lightning bugs, uncovering the key to Kentucky’s ecological health within their nostalgic glow. 

Finally, Polston explores the life and legacy of Whitney Young Jr., the influential civil rights leader who championed job creation and advised U.S. presidents.
